Windows XP is an operating system produced by Microsoft for use on personal
computers, including home and business desktops,
laptops and media centers. First released to computer
manufacturers on August 24, 2001, it
is the second most popular version of Windows, based on installed user base. The name "XP" is short for
"eXPerience".
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) was released to manufacturing on April 21, 2008, and to the public
via both the Microsoft Download Center and Windows
Update on May 6, 2008.
It
began being automatically pushed out to Automatic

new features available separately as stand-alone updates to Windows XP, as well
as backported features from Windows Vista, has been
posted by Microsoft. A total of
1,174 fixes have been included in SP3. Service
Pack 3 can be installed on systems with Internet Explorer versions 6, 7, or 8. Internet Explorer 7 and 8 are not
